Best Time to Visit
December–May is the dry season — perfect for sailing the Grenadines chain (Bequia, Canouan, Mustique, Mayreau, the Tobago Cays), snorkelling the Tobago Cays Marine Park, and hiking St Vincent's interior (including La Soufrière volcano). The Pirates of the Caribbean films were shot in Wallilabou Bay on St Vincent's leeward coast.

Dress Code
- Sailing casual throughout the Grenadines
- Smart casual for Mustique's restaurants (though very relaxed even there)
Social Etiquette
- The Grenadines are a sailor's dream — the island chain from St Vincent south to Grenada is widely regarded as the finest sailing in the Caribbean
- Mustique is privately owned and extremely exclusive — many of the world's most famous people own homes there, but it's possible to visit and stay
- The Tobago Cays are a protected marine park — swimming with sea turtles is the highlight
- La Soufrière on St Vincent erupted dramatically in 2021 — the north of the island is recovering; check current access
Local Laws
Laws change. Verify current rules with your country's official travel advisory before departure.
- LGBTQ+ same-sex activity is illegal — law enforced; exercise caution
- Cannabis remains illegal, though attitudes are relaxed at sailing destinations
