Best Time to Visit
May–June and September–October are ideal — comfortable temperatures for Ohrid and hiking. July–August is hot but Lake Ohrid is lovely for swimming. Skopje's outdoor cafés are vibrant all summer.

- North Macedonians are warm and proud of their country — especially Ohrid, one of Europe's oldest inhabited cities
- Coffee (kafe) is a social ritual — take your time
- Nodding can mean 'no' and a head shake 'yes' in some older generations — confirm verbally
- The naming dispute with Greece is now largely resolved (Prespa Agreement 2018) but is still a sensitive topic
