Kosovo uses the Euro despite not being an EU member. ATMs in Pristina and Prizren. Cards accepted in hotels and upmarket restaurants; carry cash elsewhere.

Best Time to Visit
May–June and September–October are ideal — warm, dry, and uncrowded. Prizren is beautiful for its Ottoman bazaar and fortress. July–August is hot. Kosovo declared independence in 2008 — note that Serbia and some other countries do not recognise it, which may affect border crossing.

- Kosovo is majority Muslim but largely secular — alcohol widely available in cities

- Coffee culture is vibrant — take time for a kafe in a café
